Orange, Red, and Yellow. Oh My!

Orange, Red, and Yellow. Oh My!

Waking up here in the Northland has been a bit different recently. The humidity is lower, there is a bit of a chill in the air, and it is significantly darker for a 7:30 AM commute. These signs are all pointing to one thing; fall! Fall is one of the BEST times of the year to experience the North Shore (but really, is there a bad time?). The cool temperatures allow you to hike further more comfortably, and the sunsets and sunrises are absolutely stunning.

One of the main reasons outdoor enthusiasts travel from far and wide to visit our neck of the woods, however, is the AMAZING leaf colors! The North Shore is famous for its autumn colors, with stunning reds and vivacious oranges that would make any photographer cry tears of joy. The typical prime times to visit the incredible leaves are RIGHT NOW! You don’t have to go far to see these colors, as some of the best lookouts in the area are right here in Duluth. These areas include Enger Park, Rock Knob at Hartley Park, Bagley Nature Center Lookout, and Hawk’s Ridge Observatory. Each one of these areas is located within Duluth city limits and can be gorgeous during September and October.
